iQuran Academy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by the iQuran Academy team, based in the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data.

Account information: name, email address, phone number (optional), and a securely hashed password.

Role-specific information: for students and parents — date of birth and subjects of interest; for sheikhs — qualifications, bio, availability, and hourly rate.

Class data: booked sessions, attendance records, progress notes (Juz memorized, homework status), and notes written by assigned sheikhs.

Audio recitations: when students upload recordings for their sheikh to review, these are stored securely and accessible only to the assigned sheikh and platform administrators.

Messages: in-platform communications between students, parents, and sheikhs.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and usage patterns. We use this for security monitoring and platform improvement.

• To process trial bookings and schedule ongoing classes

We do not sell your personal information to any third party, ever.

iQuran Academy welcomes students of all ages, including children under 13. We take the privacy of young learners very seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

• For any student under 13, a parent or guardian must create and manage the account using the “Parent” registration role. This constitutes verifiable parental consent.
• We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide Quran lessons to the child.
• Parents may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by emailing info@iquranacademy.com.
• We do not condition a child's participation on providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
• Parents may revoke consent and request full account deletion at any time.

• All passwords are encrypted using bcrypt hashing — we never store plain-text passwords.
• All connections to our platform are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
• Database access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
• We apply regular security updates and maintain automated backups.
• We encourage users to choose strong, unique passwords and not share login credentials.

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Assigned sheikhs: a sheikh can see the profile and class notes only for students assigned to them.
• Email service (Resend): we use Resend to send transactional emails. Resend processes your email address to deliver messages.
• Hosting (Contabo): our servers are hosted by Contabo, a Germany-based provider. Your data is processed on those servers.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by a valid US court order or legal process.
• Business transfer: if iQuran Academy is sold or merged, data may transfer as part of that transaction. You will be notified in advance.

Regardless of where you are located, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of non-essential emails (note: transactional emails like password resets and booking confirmations are required for the service to function)

EU/UK residents have additional rights under GDPR, including data portability and the right to object to processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what data is collected and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

We use cookies to provide our services and to understand how you use iQuran Academy. We classify cookies into three categories:

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Accounts with no login activity for 24 months may be deleted after prior notice. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
